About the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe

The Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe has lived in central and western Arizona for hundreds of years. With roots in the deserts of the Southwest, the tribe is known for its exceptional basket weaving. The flag of the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe even includes a unique basket design. While small in numbers, the tribe continues to abide by a thriving culture of respect for tradition.

Now residing in the rolling hills of Prescott, the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe is made up of approximately 159 members. In the past, the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe looked to timber, mining, and agriculture as an economic base. Today, the tribe pursues various business enterprises, such as those found at Prescott Resort.

Our Northern Arizona Resort’s Story

The Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe’s meaningful heritage, culture, and customs inspire each detail of Prescott Resort. From the beautiful artwork showcased in the lobby to the symbols found throughout our guest rooms, the story of Prescott Resort is rooted in the rich tradition of the tribe.
