About the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe
The Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe has lived in central and western Arizona for hundreds of years. With roots in the deserts of the Southwest, the tribe is known for its exceptional basket weaving. The flag of the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe even includes a unique basket design. While small in numbers, the tribe continues to abide by a thriving culture of respect for tradition. Now residing in the rolling hills of Prescott, the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe is made up of approximately 159 members. In the past, the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe looked to timber, mining, and agriculture as an economic base.
