It is once again time to gather as a community to drum, learn, educate, and be inspired! As we come together for our 13^th year together, we do so with the focus and theme of “Rhythm, Rhyme and Reason”. This year’s conference will once again be an amazing experience full of great presentations, learning experiences, open sharing, and as always amazing drum circle facilitators.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The Drum Circle Facilitator’s Guild (DCFG) Conference will feature a variety of workshops and presentations on a wide range of DCF topics. There will be an array of activities ranging from formal presentations, open sharing, jump time for facilitation practice, and of course plenty of time to simply drum together. Conference sessions are designed for participants who have a working knowledge and experience with basic DCF principles and techniques. Beginning DCFs are of course welcome, however introductory instruction will not be offered.

The DCFG Conference is organized by volunteer members of the DCF community and is sponsored by the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild (DCFG).

TRAVEL AND LODGING

We will be held at Ocean Creek Resort, a beautiful waterfront property in Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach is served by several major airlines including: Airtran, Northwest, Delta, US Airways, Continental and United.

Transportation to and from the airport will be the responsibility of each attendee. There will be no transportation provided to and from Ocean Creek Resort.

We have secured very favorable rates at Ocean Creek, and are committed to keeping participant costs low.

Room rates are good for 3 days pre- and post- for longer stays if desired.

ROOM RATES

Lodge Villa Studio features one queen bed and a sleeper sofa. This unit has a maximum occupancy of 2 adults and 2 children and is approximately 400 square feet.

Rate: $55.00 + tax + fees = $70.56

Lodge Villa One Bedroom features one queen bed and a sleeper sofa. Enjoy the value of a lodge villa that offers all the comforts of home! This unit has a maximum occupancy of two adults and two children and is approximately 695 square feet

Rate: $61.00 + tax + fees = $77.28

Lodge Villa Two Bedroom / Two Bath features one queen bed, two twin beds, as well as a sleeper sofa. Enjoy the value of a lodge villa that offers all the comforts of home! This unit has a maximum occupancy of four adults and two children and is approximately 945 square feet.

Rate: $72.00 + tax + fees = $89.60

Tower Oceanfront Two Bedroom Condo - features one queen bed, two twin beds, Full Kitchen w/microwave and coffee maker, washer & Dryer. Private oceanfront balcony off of Master bedroom and living area. This unit has a maximum occupancy of four adults and two children and is approximately 1,250 square feet.

Rate: $103.00 + tax + fees = $124.32

There is an $8.00 resort fee per evening and 11% sales tax.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

CALL FOR SESSION PROPOSALS

We are currently looking for individuals that would like to share their expertise and experiences as DCFs to serve as session leaders and presenters. This year, we will be emphasizing how we as facilitators take action with our DCF principles, methods, and business considerations, to truly be leaders that help us move drum circle facilitation into the future, rooted in the theme of “Rhythm, Rhyme and Reason”.

Given our theme, we are looking for sessions that truly take the community beyond “Show us what you do”, that push the envelope of our learning, and that help us grow, develop, and build the future of drum circle facilitation.

The application period is open for workshop session proposals covering the following general subject areas:

A. DCF Business Development (building market presence, client base, equipment & logistics, start-up funding, etc.)

B. Program Design & Activities for Specific Populations (children, special needs, workplace training, health & wellness, etc.)

C. DCF Techniques and Strategies (activities, games, resources)

D. DCF Mastery (personal presence, intention, self-development, inter-disciplinary resources, peer feedback, etc.)

E. Other
