A native of Indianapolis, IN, Wil first began playing music around age eight under the dynamic instruction of Jazz Saxophonist Larry Liggett, where he studied classical snare drum and percussion. With much encouragement, practice and support from his musical mentors, Wil quickly evolved into one of the most proficient jazz drummers in the Indianapolis area.
After relocating to the Washington DC area in 2009, Wil began to notice how drum circles are a way of life in DC and the surrounding areas. Through a "by-chance" meeting at PASIC during 2017, he was officially introduced to drum circles and the rest is history. Unfortunately, conflicting schedules don't allow Wil to actively participate in drum circles anymore but he's an advocate for and supporter of drum circles.
Wil is a current member of the Percussive Arts Society (PAS), and for 2020 he was selected to serve on the PAS Music Technology Committee. Wil is also a trained Remo HealthRHYTHMS (c) facilitator, wherein he facilitates Group Empowerment Drumming.
Wil believes "The goal is to have fun and exchange the best musical interactions you're capable of sharing!"
