D Mary Knysh will be complimenting the conference theme of Center, Pulse, GROOVE! with her keynote Balance & Resilience: Self, Circle & Sound. Read Mary’s beautiful description of the keynote. We live in a time of great change, challenge and possibility. Musicking, engaging in the process of collaborative music making, provides us with fundamental lifelong tools and skills for discovering and tapping into balance and coherency to reduce the stresses we may feel. Drum circle experiences, much like life, offer us opportunities for moving into and out of states of imbalance and chaos. Through our collaborative music making process we develop the capacity to prepare, recover and adapt in the face of challenges and incoherence. As a result we learn vital lifelong skills for moving into joyful states of balance, connection, and music. Through rhythmic free play and music improvisation activities, we’ll celebrate the reunion of our global DCFG community. Together we will redefine our central purpose, connect to the pulse of our community and step into our future with revitalized energy and a fresh new groove that reflects our combined brilliance and resilience! What a great way to start conference - by celebrating the reunion of our global DCFG Community. If you don’t know Mary check out her bio below.
