Biography:
Jaqui MacMillan is a Washington DC based drum circle facilitator, drum teacher, workshop leader and percussionist. Her drumming quest began in the early 1980's, when she started playing sessions with D.C. area musicians. Having performed and recorded for over 18 years with some of the top names in the business, Jaqui has also facilitated drum circles for schools, summer programs for children, corporations, hospitals, juvenile detention centers and at centers for homeless and battered women. Jaqui has taught privately and given workshops around the country for over 14 years through her program called, Drum For Joy!!! and is one of the founding members of the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild (DCFG). Mission Statement:
My mission is to bring more joy and positive energy into the world. I shine my light as bright as I can, so that others around me will shine theirs too. I do this by drumming, smiling, loving, teaching, laughing, facilitating and sharing. I serve the community with rhythm. I teach and share my rhythmical spirit in order to bring joy, fun and healing to the world around me.

My mission is also to be an inspiring role model for children and women.......

.......To encourage young people to express themselves rhythmically, so that they will grow more confident, learn to work together and help make the future of the planet better.

......To encourage women to express themselves rhythmically, so that they will build their self-esteem and self-worth, and regain their sense of power and strength in the community.

Healing happens through the power of the drums. Joy comes from sharing this together. I am a facilitator of these things in the world.
